1996- 2023

Lauren Elizabeth Kainer, 26, of Sealy, was born to John and Liz Kainer on June 20, 1996 in Houston, Texas. She went to her heavenly home on February 1, 2023, exactly two years after her Grandmother Mary passed away.

Lauren was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy where she was baptized and received her First Holy Communion with brother Jared and cousin Wyatt. Lauren listened to/prayed the rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet daily.

She attended Sealy schools, having many excellent teachers, aides, therapists, coaches and administrators. She graduated in May, 2017. She was blessed to have Grandmother Patty as her personal classroom aide. She participated in Special Olympics with brother, Jared, and cousin, Blaine, serving as coaches.

Lauren enjoyed music, keeping rhythms by moving her thumb or ringing her bells. She loved being among her brother and loud cousins, including when they took turns pushing her around the skating rink on her birthday, attending movies on the big screen and participating in adaptive bowling. She was blessed with home care provided by many excellent nurses.

Special time was spent watching Cowboys football and dancing with her dad, John. She particularly responded to male voices; the most memorable time was when she was hospitalized, multiple tubes taped to her, and her grandfather, Lawrence, came to visit. Upon hearing his voice, she immediately turned her head all the way around to look at him.

Lauren had a special purpose on this earth. She touched others’ hearts with her presence. Her family called her “an Angel on earth.” She healed many in her special way from her bed and wheelchair, never saying a word. The family felt blessed to care for her but it became evident that she was not the one who needed healing; she just needed to be loved as she was. When Lauren was 11 months old and very ill in the hospital, her mother was praying the rosary and had a vision of the Virgin Mary holding Lauren, blessing her and releasing her to run to her mother. The priest said the Virgin Mary was sharing Lauren with us. No doubt Lauren has completed “her mission” here on earth and is now a princess, wearing her Crown of Glory, in the royal court of her Heavenly mother Mary, the Queen of Heaven and her Beloved Son Jesus.

Preceding her in death are grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Kwiatkowski and grandfather, Lawrence Alfred Kainer. Survivors include parents, Liz Kainer and John Kainer and wife, Mandy; brother, Jared Kainer and stepsisters, Sailor and Scarlett Goebel; grandfather, Alphonse Kwiatkowski, grandmother, Patty Kainer, and step-grandparents Joanne and Ricky Herbrig; 18 aunts and uncles and 27 cousins.

Her vigil was February 6 at Knesek Funeral Home in Sealy and the funeral mass was celebrated by Father Jonathan Moore and Deacon Robert Kent at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy.
