Glen Taylor Whitehead of Brookshire, Texas, passed away early on the morning of October 2nd, 2022, in Katy, Texas, at 70 years of age. He was born in El Paso, Texas July 14th, 1952, to the late Richard Catlin and Barbara Ann Whitehead.

He moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he graduated from Del Norte High School in 1970. A few years later, he met the love of his life, Janice Ostrom, and they wed on January 28, 1978. Glen and Janice were then blessed with three children: Dustin, Sarah, and Josh. Glen served as the Chief Appraiser for the Austin County Appraisal District until later becoming the Chief Appraiser for the Fort Bend Appraisal District in Rosenberg, Texas. As a devoted man of God, he was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring, a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church Sealy, and a

member of Parkway Fellowship in Katy, Texas. He also served on various organizations within Austin County and served as Chairman of the Metropolitan Association of Appraisal Districts.

Glen was an avid angler and regularly enjoyed his trips to Fayetteville Lake with his family and friends. He also found a passion for traveling and enjoyed visiting Alaska, Roatan, Honduras, and Mexico. He could often be found in the kitchen making his renowned green chile enchiladas or lighting up the grill to make his excellent hamburgers. He also loved gardening, tinkering with his cars and computers, and walking his beloved Great Dane Max and Sally.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents Richard C. and Barbara Whitehead, and one brother Thomas “Tommy” Whitehead.

He leaves many precious memories to be enjoyed by his wife Janice, children Dustin and Lauren Whitehead, Sarah and Nathan Routen, Josh and Jane Whitehead, and five grandchildren, Kadon Meadows, Bryn Whitehead, Liam Whitehead, Bethany Routen, and Kate Routon.

A Celebration of Life and Reception will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 1310 US Hwy 90, Sealy, Texas, 77474.
