Clara Ognoskie Stolarski passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022, in Sealy, Texas. She was 77 years old. Clara was born on January 10, 1944, in Hempstead, Texas, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria Ognoskie. Clara was the youngest of four siblings and her family called her Sissy. She grew up in Houston and graduated from Cypress Fairbanks High School in 1962.

She met her husband Leonard at the 1963 Immaculate Conception Church Bazaar in Sealy and they got engaged on Christmas Eve of that year. They were married on July 11, 1964. They lived in Houston until 1973 when they moved to the country, San Felipe. Leonard was raised in the Sealy area. They were married for 54 years. Clara worked at various credit unions throughout her life, including the Shell Oil Credit Union. She truly enjoyed serving her customers and getting to know them.

Clara was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek. She was a very active member of the Catholic Daughters, the KJZT, and the American Legion Auxiliary, in Sealy holding many offices for each organization over the years. Along with Leonard, she was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Austin County Fair Association. They got in involved with the Fair when their daughters, Denise and Deborah, began raising show steers in the 4-H program. She often worked in the Fair’s Country Store.

She was creative and enjoyed crafting, making things like wreaths and angels. She also enjoyed baking sweets including many of her mother’s recipes. Clara loved playing cards with her friends. Like her husband, she was an avid bingo player. They also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with friends and family, including going to Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe. She loved her pet dogs. Clara got much joy from being Meme to her only grandson, Ethan.
