Augustine Joann Whitcomb (AUGGIE) was born in Bremond, Texas Dec. 10, 1942 (81 years) to parents, William (Bill) and Rosie Snider. Her early life was spent in Beasley, where she attended Beasley Elementary School and then Lamar Consolidated High School. In her class was BJ Thomas who is famous for the song, “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.” After her dad’s death, the family moved to Houston and Auggie graduated from Sam Houston High School. Auggie’s husband of 40 years, Charles Whitcomb preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2022. Also, preceded in her death were her parents, Bill and Rosie Snider, and brothers Grady, Richard, and James Lee Snider.

Surviving daughters are Charlotte Whitcomb and her husband Rory; Kathy Harwood Whitcomb and daughter, Alicia Harwood. Surviving brother, Tommy Snider, and wife, JoNell; sons William (Billy) Snider and wife, Jessica; son Dwayne Snider, daughter Brandi Templeton. Surviving sisters are Evelyn Cherry; son Brandon and wife Mary, daughter Maigen Welborn, son Travis Welborn; daughter Alisa Stewart and husband Scott Stewart; children Cameryn, Kade, Travis, and Channing Stewart. Sister Dorothy Louise Black and son Curtis Black; sister Rosemary Ochs and son Ronald Ochs. Many Nephews and nieces.

Auggie and Charlie attended the First United Methodist Church in Sealy. They are devout Christians and enjoy helping people.

Auggie retired from Harris County Flood Control. After retiring her hobbies were painting with a beautiful display at her home. She shared them with her siblings and their children.

She later took up quilting and shared those with her family as well. She enjoyed plants, and flowers, and loved bluebonnets and hummingbirds.
