Please be advised that the City of Sealy Health Inspector has inspected the following establishments for food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitary conditions:

JULY 7

Wildcat Express, 6025 FM 3538: All items must be stored six inches off of the sales floor and walk-in cooler; cooked food needs to be disposed in a timely manner (4 hours). SCORE: 96

River Hills Seafood & Steak,6027 FM 3538: All items in the walk-in cooler need to be six inches off of the floor; Health Permit must be visible to the public. SCORE: 97

Subway #48730, 6023 FM 3538: Very clean and organized. SCORE: 100

The Sluss Shack Daq Shack (daiquiri truck), 203 MEYER ST. Very clean and neatly organized. Ready to open. SCORE:100

JULY 14

CVS Pharmacy, 802 Meyer St.: Manager has done a lot of cleaning, but store needs to be dusted and vacuumed every day. A work order was placed to the corporate office to repair fence and clean the air vents inside the building. Manager will order drink holders to keep merchandise in order and move items on sales floor around in order to vacuum under the inventory. SCORE: 85 Follow-up re-inspection in 10 days.

Whataburger, 2013 Highway 36 South: Staff went to Whataburger to address a complaint regarding a rat being seen near the drink area. Staff has inspected the entire establishment and there were no signs of rodents.

Jin’s Asian Café, 2220 Highway 36 South: 1. no pets allowed in the restaurant, 2. carpet very dirty and sticky, 3. eating area cannot be used for storage, 4. tables and chairs very sticky and covered with a thick layer residue, 5. last pest control was done in May 2022, 6. Soap dispenser in men’s restroom broken, 7. ice machine was full of food and a bucket was placed inside to catch water, 8. fire extinguishers and vent hood tags were expired, 9. air vents very dirty, 10. large hole in the kitchen ceiling needs to be repaired, 11. cooked chicken not temperature, 12. large amounts of grease on the side of the stove and on top of the tables in the kitchen, 13. fly traps hanging over the food in the kitchen, 14. food covered with rags in the refrigerator that was not at proper temperature, 15. large amount of rat traps in the kitchen and dining area, 16. cell phone on top of eggs, 17. walls, ceiling tile, and under the stove was full of grease. SCORE: 0 Establishment has been closed until further notice due to too many violations.

JULY 15

Dollar Tree, 2320 Highway 36 South: 1. all items must be stored 6 inches of the sales floor. 2. Freezer not cooling properly – items that are defrosted must be removed and discarded. 3. Items in cooler must be stored properly to prevent spills. 4. A/C needs to be working properly to keep inventory from melting. 5. Large amount of inventory store on floor in back room. 6. Walk-in cooler was completely blocked by inventory in back room - unable to inspect. SCORE 89

Ernesto’s Mexican Restaurant: 2350 Highway 36 South: 1. Drink cooler needs to be repaired. 2. Cut limes in cooler need to be covered. 3. Spills need to be cleaned in drink cooler. 4. Food must be covered in the freezer. 5. Broken appliances need to be removed or repaired. 6. Beans uncovered in the walk-in cooler. 7. Toilet in bathroom not working. SCORE: 93
