Tuesday morning, Virnau Sealy Tractor announced its sale to Washington County Tractor after 60 years in business.

Jeff Virnau, owner and operator of Virnau and Sons Tractor, announced his family business was selling to Chris Wackman and his family business, also located in Sealy, in a video released Tuesday morning. He said for the company’s 60 years in business, he has been actively involved for 43 of those years.

“I don’t know many people who can say they have been employed in the same place doing what they love for 43 years, but I can,” Virnau said in a statement. “I’m certain my success is derived in large part from surrounding myself with the most talented, dedicated employees in the industry, and I truly believe our people are the best ones around.”

Virnau said although there may be some new faces making their way around the building, plenty of familiar, friendly faces will remain on board.

“Please stop by for a visit in the near future. You will get to meet a few new people, but you will also be greeted by the same individuals who have been taking care of you for years,” he said. “Our company motto is ‘Arrive as customers, leave as friends, and return as family.’ To all of you who started as customers, became our friends, and are now our business family, we offer our sincere thanks.”
