Friday, March 25, the Austin County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 56-year-old Bellville resident Kathy Elaine Maresh in connection to the murder of her husband, 62-year-old Jimmy Dale Maresh. She was being held in the Austin County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon, March 22, where an ACSO release said deputies were sent to the area of Sycamore Crossing and Highway 159 West regarding a welfare concern.

“Deputies arrived and located a female who was wandering around the area on foot. The female was identified as Kathy Elaine MARESH (56) of Bellville, Texas. Information provided by MARESH led deputies to a residence located at 1508 S. Tesch, Bellville, Texas, where deputies discovered her deceased husband Jimmy Dale MARESH (62),” ACSO said March 25. “On March 23rd, the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined Jimmy MARESH was killed by 2 gun shots to the upper torso. Currently, Kathy MARESH has been arrested for murder and is being held in the Austin County jail on a $500,000 bond.”
