It’s a lot harder trying to distribute awards fairly when one team has completely dominated across the board. The Lady Tigers recently had several players awarded with All District honors this past week, and unsurprisingly didn’t have the entire squad recognized as Sealy’s girls went undefeated all district season for the first time in history.

Needville’s Makala Smith struck out 12 and allowed only one baserunner as the Bluejays defeated Sealy 4-0 in the final home contest for the Lady Tigers this season. Sealy closed out its softball district season Tuesday with a road contest against Royal.

Funeral services for Ariah Lynn Jennings, 7, who died in an ATV accident April 3, will be held Saturday, April 13 at Knesek Brothers Funeral Chapel, 768 4th Street in Sealy. Jennings, a first grader at Selman Elementary, died in the accident.
