The Brazos Cougars boys came in third place in the Cougars Relays held last Thursday at Brazos High School. Halletsville placed first and Edna took second place in the boys’ division.

The girls track team competed in the Cougar Relays last Thursday. The varsity girls team finished in fourth place with 62 points.

As a father of five, I know parents are the first educators and the most important voices in their children’s lives. Parents are committed to ensuring their children receive a quality education because they know it’s the key to a successful future. Whether they choose public school, private school, or homeschooling, parents deserve to be fully involved. It’s their right.

The Brazos Cougars placed three players on the 24-3A All-District boys’ basketball teams as they were announced last week. Brazos freshman Jarvse Dickerson was named Newcomer of the Year for the district.

The Sealy City Council unanimously denied a variance application from Steinhauser’s for the installation of a 15-foot fence. The proposed fence was to mitigate the spread of feed dust and debris from the loading area. There have been complaints from nearby residents and filings with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality TCEQ concerning the dust blanket covering homes and cars.
