The Faith Academy Lady Knight volleyball squad opened its tournament season with a secondplace finish in the silver division of its host tournament. Ella Polston represented Faith Academy by being named to the all-tournament team for her efforts.
The Faith Academy Knight baseball team took a hard-fought loss to the Allen Academy Rams last Tuesday on the road, 15-5. The visitors started hot and racked up five runs on seven hits over the first four innings but the host Rams used three-, five- and four-run innings in their final three innings to secure the victory.
The Faith Academy Knight baseball team took down Brazosport Christian 16-5 last Tuesday behind an early lead. The Knights got on the board in the first inning when Landon Snyder recorded two RBI on a ground out.
The Faith Academy Track team competed in the JV Swamp Relays at Rice Consolidated High School in Altair March 24 against El Campo, Columbus, Shiner, La Grange and Rice. The field events took place under overcast skies and a drizzle.
The Faith Academy Knights baseball team split its action last week and collected its first win of the season with a 14-5 victory over Texas Connection last Thursday. Before Faith Academy’s win, the Knights lost to Bay Area Christian earlier in the week where they fell behind early and couldn’t come back and eventually fell by an 11-0 score.
The Faith Academy track team competed at the Brookshire Royal Relays on March 11 and freshman Noah Figueroa climbed up to second all-time in school history with a discus throw of 109 feet, 4 inches. Although Figueroa hadn’t competed in the discus event since he was in sixth grade, he didn’t miss a beat and registered fourth place overall with his throw.
The Faith Academy Lady Knight basketball squad split their two away games last week and fell to Fayetteville 68-18 but bounced back to beat Houston Adventist 26-8. In the first game of the week last Tuesday, Faith Academy head girls basketball coach Terri Tomlinson said the team started slow but battled to the end.
