Alvin (Al) Konvicka, Jr. passed from this life at home surrounded by family on January 26, 2021, at the age of 76 years after a courageous battle with cancer.

Justin Burk Cudd passed away on January 17, 2021, at his home in Katy, TX at the age of 29.

Justin was born on November 13, 1991, in Houston, TX to Jack (Rick) and Danette Cudd. He graduated from Katy High School in 2010 and attended University of Houston, Victoria where he played baseball.

Justin was a sweet, loving son and best friend to his father and mother. We’ve lost a shining light in our lives.

Jeanne Lee Allen- Beason, 68, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2021. Jeanne Jalowy was born on February 19, 1952 and grew up in Sealy, Texas. Jeanne was the daughter of Mary Nell and Homer Jalowy who lived in and had strong ties in the Sealy area. She was the oldest of 4 children and had 3 brothers: Steve, Kean and Chris Jalowy.

The Honorable Oliver S. Kitzman, 86, of Pattison, Texas, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by family, on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Judge Kitzman was born in rural Waller County off Adams Flat Road near Pattison on August 21, 1934. He liked to say, “When I came to this country, I was born on the prairie in a house with no wires or pipes.” His mother died in childbirth when he was six years old. As the sixth born in a family of eight children with very little but each other, Judge Kitzman lived an extraordinary life with very humble beginnings.

Mildred Marie Ferris Taylor, 90, formerly of Sealy, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Kyle, Texas. Mimi, as she was affectionately called, was born on March 6, 1930, in Katy, Texas and grew up in Katy and Sealy, Texas. She was the oldest daughter of A.W. and Leona Ferris.

Jerry Josef Ernest Zapalac, 91, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020. On this day he was born again celebrating his earthly birthday with his heavenly birthday. Jerry was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Sealy, Texas, to parents Charles Zapalac and Albina Belunek. He grew up in Frydek, Texas, where he attended school.

George Aguinaga, 36, of Sealy was taken away from us on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, in Sealy. He was born in Bellville, Texas, April 16, 1984, to Joe and Maria Aguinaga and was raised all his life in Sealy.

Mary Etta Layden (nee Grandys) of Sealy, Texas, (formally of Bonne Terre, Mo.) passed away on Dec. 4, 2020. She was born in Crown Point, Ind., to Francis and Mary Grandys on Nov. 5, 1937. She was wed to Joseph W. Layden on Feb. 8, 1958.
