The Austin County Fair has released its activity schedule and entertainment line-up for this year. Austin County Represented at State Level in Rodeo

Emily Askew, Blaze Wyatt Byler, Jayci Lee Byler, Shelby Hardin, Razzi Navarro and Samantha Perko traveled to Abilene June 6-11 to compete in the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals. Case Cerny, Hayzen Hunt and Randi Navarro competed May 22-28, 2022 at the Texas Junior High School Rodeo Association State Finals in Gonzales.

Wallis Council considers splash pad for park

The Wallis City Council is considering adding a splash pad to Mynarik Park rather than moving forward with the parking lot addition project they have been working towards recently. Based on the massive turnout for the city’s annual Fourth of July Celebration this year the councilmembers were mostly in agreement that the size of parking lot they were planning to have constructed would not suffice for the needs of that event anyways.

After nearly two decades of working together, Memorial Hermann Health System and the Houston Rockets are excited to announce a unique, first-of-its-kind collaboration and branding partnership. Effective July 1, 2022, Memorial Hermann’s entire orthopedics and sports medicine service line has been rebranded as Memorial Hermann-Rockets Orthopedics. In addition, Memorial Hermann’s sports medicine institute clinics will be named Memorial Hermann- Rockets Sports Medicine Institute, and Memorial Hermann Orthopedic & Spine Hospital will be named Memorial Hermann-Rockets Orthopedic Hospital. With the trust and support of the Houston Rockets, Memorial Hermann is proud to be the first health system in the country to be able to co-brand its orthopedic programs with a national sports team partner.

Astros blast-off in doubleheader against Yankees

HOUSTON — Following the MLB All-Star break, the Houston Astros hosted a doubleheader against the New York Yankees, who sit atop of the league's standings, in Game 2 with a 7-5 win.  

Designated hitter and American League all-star, Yordan Alvarez, was activated from the injured list after missing the final seven games before the break due to a hand injury and couldn’t have been back at a better time.
