Podaras passes after car accident

On May 9, 95-year-old Mike Podaras, of Sealy, died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on State Highway 36, according to Sargent Stephen Woodard of the Texas Department of Transportation. The police report states the accident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m., when a 2018 Ford Escape being driven by an 18-year-old Sealy woman was traveling Northbound on State Highway 36 in the left lane.

Second Annual Mudbugs on Main in Sealy

The second annual Mudbugs on Main "all-you-can-eat" crawfish event was held this past Saturday, May 14, hosted by Patches and the Shops of Downtown Sealy.

Roads were closed in the Sealy Main Street district for the event, and the crawfish was cooked by Brenton Slusser, owner of The SlussShack Daiquiris To Go. D.J. Dilly Billy spun tunes for the crowd, and the Bubba Westly Band provided live music for crawfish-munchers.
