Three Sealy High School students recently earned their spot on the all-state choir and another earned an alternate position in what was one of the most successful events in school history.

Ashlynn Vojtek and Cody Prause both earned third chair and RJ Wigfall secured fourth chair to punch their ticket to the top choir competition in Texas. On top of that, Blane Fisher registered a sixth-chair finish and will serve as an alternate for the all-state choir.

The three advancing students mark the most all-state choir members Sealy has had in an allstate competition. In addition, Sealy had the most students auditioning in the area where 17 of the 96 total students auditioning were from Sealy High School. Out of 22 high schools competing, Sealy also had the most students advancing to the all-state choir.

“It was a really big win for the Sealy Choir students,” said Sealy High School choir teacher Matthew Kent. “They advanced to the highest honor a choir student can receive in the state of Texas. Out of thousands of entries at the district level, they advanced to the final round and made the all-state choir.”
