William (Bill) Roger Janwich Sr. was born June 8, 1940 in Morganville, NJ, to William and Mary Jane Janwich. William passed away the evening of Jan. 7, 2017. He was married to his wife Penny for 28 years. William was an exceptionally gifted auto mechanic up until his retirement a few years ago. He learned his trade growing up in New Jersey working in garages with his relatives and friends. He had a strong passion for cars and racing. Over the years, William bought, built, and sold numerous old hot rods including a couple of ‘68 and ‘69 Camaros, which he had a special love for. He was also an incredibly enthusiastic NASCAR fan who was very devoted to his two favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. It was extremely rare for him to miss watching a race on the weekend. He also had a passion for drag racing and loved watching his friend Frank “Ace” Manzo win on the weekends when his races were televised.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Roger Janwich Sr., his mother, Mary Jane Janwich, Aunt Edith Holtz, Uncle Al and Aunt Louise Janwich. William is survived by his wife Penny Janwich, sister Barbara (Bobbi) Hoeller, children William (Billy) Roger Janwich Jr. and wife Pamela, Sherry Goebel, David Janwich and wife Angie, Scooter Torres and wife Mary, and Dawn Hatten and husband Doug. He is also survived by his grandchildren Heather Mascarella, Zachary Janwich, Beverly Serrette, Rachel Goebel, Deanne Bell, Khristopher Torres, Eden Homrighaus, Sydney Torres, Joe Kelly and Jaxon Hatten. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, Aiden, Mariah, Kobe, Kylie, Kyren, Mason, Aubrei, Emmah, and Max.
