With its season finally hitting its stride after being disrupted by Hurricane Harvey, the Sealy Tigers’ volleyball team has found itself on a hot streak.
With the team’s last loss coming on Aug. 24 against Friendswood in the George Ranch Tournament, they have pulled off six straight records to put the team at a record of 19-7. The streak is coming at a crucial time for the team as they began district play against Royal on Sept. 19 against Royal and face Needville Sept. 22.
Throughout the streak during September, the Tigers have swept three out of four of their matches and only lost one set against Giddings on the way to a 3-1 win.
Senior Molly Dittert was the star of Sealy’s most recent match against El Campo on Sept. 15. Dittert led the team in digs with six, assists with 30, one block and tied for second-most kills on the team with eight.
While Dittert dominated that match, it’s been fellow senior Rayann Rabius whose statline has stuck out the most in the month of September. Rabius has led the team in blocks, kills and digs twice this month.
The Tigers look to continue the win streak through district play as the end of the season grows nearer. The team has just over a month left in its season with the last match against Stafford High School in Sealy on Oct. 24.
