The Bellville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors cordially invites the public to attend an old-fashioned town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the Bellville High School Auditorium.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public and provide a time for questions and answers from the public regarding the transition, vision, physician recruitment and future of Bellville's hospital. As of May 6, CHI St. Joseph Health will no longer lease the facility and operate the hospital.
Anne Ford, chairman of the Bellville Hospital Foundation Board, will be moderator.
Joining Ford on the stage will be a panel of speakers including Tony Causey, the President of the Bellville Hospital District. BHD owns the land and hospital, including the adjoining professional medical building. Juanita Romans will be introduced to the assembly and she will also be on the panel of speakers. Ms. Romans, representing TRG Group, will serve as CEO of the hospital and function as on-site hospital administrator. Another panelist will be Larry Hancock, representing ERH Healthcare, the managing corporation that the BHD has engaged to assist in managing the local hospital during transition. Dr. Don R. Bosse, MD, will participate in this interchange of information and also be available to answer questions.
"Your attendance is vital to the next step the board takes with regard to services to be provided at our local hospital," said Ford. "The objective of this town hall meeting is for as many local people to attend as possible so that the information can be shared in a setting where you see the people, hear for yourself what is being said, and can ask questions that might concern you about the future of this hospital that has served the citizens of Austin County and surrounding areas for over 90 years. The Bellville Hospital District Board and the Bellville Hospital Foundation Board want to be as transparent as possible with the public."
Ford added, "These are uncertain times, but we have heard from so many people that they welcome the change and that's what motivated all of us to organize this town hall meeting so the public has an opportunity to hear first-hand what's planned for the future healthcare of Austin County. Your input is important."
