Some fair events still taking place

The Austin County Fair and Rodeo may have been canceled this year due to COVID-19, but the Livestock Show and Sale and other events are still taking place.

 

2020 schedule of events

Thursday, Oct. 1

8 a.m. Floral Design competition – Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center

Friday, Oct. 2

8 a.m. Hay Judging – Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center

10 a.m. Champion Drive Livestock Show – Livestock Barn

Saturday, Oct. 3

8 a.m. Commercial Pen of Heifers evaluations

9 a.m. Bucket Calf Show – Livestock Barn

2 p.m. Beef Skillathon in C. W. Brandes Entertainment Center

5-6 p.m. Market and Breeding Rabbits move in, sifted and judged

5:30 p.m. Queen’s Contest – Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center

Sunday, Oct. 4

8-9 a.m. Market Turkeys move in and sifted. Judging immediately following.

5-6 p.m. Market Broilers move in, sifted and judged

Monday, Oct. 5

11 a.m. Judging of Market Swine in the Livestock Arena

5 p.m. Ag Mechanics judging begins – Entertainment Center

Tuesday, Oct. 6

8 a.m. Judging of Market Lambs – Harold Luhn Livestock Barn

11 a.m. Judging of Colts – Koerth Arena

Noon Judging of Market Steer – Livestock Arena

Wednesday, Oct. 7

8 a.m. Judging of Market Goats – Harold Luhn Livestock Barn

11 a.m. Judging of Halter Heifers – Livestock Arena

Followed by Judging of Scramble Heifers – Livestock Arena

Friday, Oct. 9

11:30 a.m. Youth Livestock Auction Sale – Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center

Saturday, Oct. 10

9 a.m. Tractor Technician Contest – Austin County Fair Convention and Tennis Court.
