SHS UIL takes Sweepstakes at Needville UIL invitational


The Sealy High School UIL academics team traveled to Needville for an invitational meet on Saturday, Feb. 18, bringing home the coveted Sweepstakes trophy.

The small group of Sealy students went up against competitors from 18 other schools in the area and won numerous team and individual medals. The Sweepstakes was award for being the top point earning team in the small school division. The following are the results from the event.

Headline Writing - 2nd, Morgan Gajewski; Current Issues and Events - 2nd Place Team, 2nd Kody Snead, 3rd Gyssel Salinas; Science - 2nd Place Team, 2nd Allison Sanchez; Top Chemistry, 5th Casey Faichtinger; Mathematics - 3rd, Trace Ribardo; Number Sense - 6th Hunter Clark; Calculator Applications - 1st Place Team, 1st Mathias Litzmann, 2nd Adriana Duron, 3rd Trace Ribardo, 4th Alejandro Guillen, 5th Allison Sanchez; Social Studies - 2nd Place Team, 2nd Mathias Litzmann, 3rd Gyssel Salinas.
