Shorthorn Association welcomes new members

Tiffany Craft has become a member of the Texas Shorthorn Association. The Texas Shorthorn Association has been promoting the red, white or roan colored English breed of beef cattle since the early 1900s.

The Shorthorn cattle breed originated on the northeastern coast of England about 1600. The first improved breed of cattle to be imported to America, they arrived in Virginia in 1783. The breed was valued for meat and milk and for its hardiness in pulling a wahon or plow. Today, over 30 recognized breeds of cattle trace their roots to Shorthorns.
