After finishing in the top two in their disciplines, two groups of Sealy FFA members are on their way to the state level competition with second-place finishes at the Area XI LDE on Nov. 23. The senior chapter conducting team of Avery Oliver, John Owen, Rayne Wallace, Brayden Ashorn, Cameron Hein, Jordyn Davila, Brylie Nedd, Hattie Schalla and Alex Pinales took second overall at area after being crowned District III Champions the previous weekend. In addition, Avery Oliver won second place in senior creed speaking to punch a ticket to the state competition this weekend. Also competing at the Area XI LDE were the junior quiz team (Ashlyn Davila, Trey Lejeune, Tiffany Tritco and Leandra Ross) who took third overall and the junior chapter conducting team of Grayson Oliver, Ashlyn Davila, Leandra Ross, Garret Nedd, Nikolas Young, Trace Ashorn, Josh Steffens, Tiffany Tritco and Trey Lejeune, taking home a fifth-place banner.
It was a banner day at the District III LDE for Sealy FFA with four teams advancing to the area round from the Nov. 16 competition. The senior chapter conducting team took home a district championship, Avery Oliver took second in senior creed speaking and the junior chapter conducting and junior quiz team both earned third-place banners and a trip to the next level which occurred the following weekend. Also earning banners were Alex Pinales in the job interview category (fifth place), Grayson Oliver in junior creed speaking (sixth overall) and the senior quiz team of Alex Pinales, Courtney Roberts, Katie Wagoner and Hattie Schalla, who also took sixth overall. In addition, the radio broadcasting team of Austin DeBerry, Laney Lejeune, Kaylie Feland and Emily Contreras as well as the public relations team of Kelsie Krenek, Chelsea Robertson, Ava Lippincott and Cheyenne Fredregill also competed at the district level.
