On Sunday, Feb. 26, Sealy FFA competed in the San Antonio Stock Show Livestock judging contest. The Junior team earned championship honors beating over 130, 4H and Junior FFA teams from across Texas. The team made up of 8th grade Junior FFA members from Sealy Junior High School included Rhys Reichardt, Montana Hicks, Jordyn Davila and Avery Oliver. Rhys finished as 16th place individual, Montana 13th place, Jordyn second place and Avery first place among all Junior FFA members. The team has enjoyed a fantastic year as champions at five Livestock judging contests: Austin County, Waller County, Washington County, San Patricio County and coming in second at three others.
The younger Junior team of Kenna Schram, Rylan Reichardt, Ansley Owen and Grayson Oliver came in a solid 17th place. Kenna led the way placing 26th with good scores by rest of the team. Close behind was the team of Justin Gajewski, Tracer Kruzel, Braden Ashorn and Trace Ashorn placing 21st as a team.
In the Senior division, 220 teams competed and Sealy FFA team emerged in seventh place. Meghan Hein carded her best score of the year and led the team with a ninth-high individual recognition from 750 contestants. Allison Schram, as expected for this Senior, who has been a consistent winner for the team, was a solid 21st and joined by John Owen, Matt Young, Cory Barrett and Tater Kruzel.
