Sales rep joins The Sealy News

Susan Walker joined The Sealy News last month as a sales representative.

Walker, 27, grew up on her family’s 800-acre ranch in Brenham, equipped with seven ponds, natural creeks and deer feeders. As a child she enjoyed many things, but among her favorites were riding four-wheelers and fishing.

Walker played competitive softball for 16 years and was named All-District, All-State and Newcomer of the Year, setting a record at the UIL State Tournament in Austin for the most stolen bases in a single game.

She graduated from Brenham High School in 2009 and attended Blinn College, later transferring to Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she studied marketing and spent time between exams playing with the many stray cats on campus. She spent eight years in the medical field before returning to Brenham in 2017.

Walker’s greatest accomplishment, however, is her 5-year-old daughter Maddy.

“The kid saved my life,” she said. “I know a lot of parents will say that, but she truly is the best part of me and my reason for being.”

Walker enjoys summers on the lake, Fredericksburg wine tours and pro-mod and no-prep racing. She mostly loves going home and watching her daughter jump on the trampoline and snuggling with her cats, Cheeto and Noodles.

The opportunity to help clients build their businesses and advertise their products with residents in Austin County and beyond is a perfect fit, Walker said.

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity and look forward to meeting our local residents and business partners,” she said.
