Garden Cub of Sealy

The monthly meeting of the Garden Club of Sealy will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hill Center in Sealy. The guest speaker is Pete Smith, Bluebonnet Master Gardener and Composting Specialist, He will present an interesting and informational presentation on Composting. HOA-Meals on Wheels

HOA-Meals on Wheels is planning its annual chicken/sausage lunch fundraiser Friday, Oct. 27 at Levine Park across from Sealy City Hall. As in the past plates are to-go only.  Proceeds benefit the HOA-Meals on Wheels in their program of service to senior citizens.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the HOA office at 979-885-4188.

Get Rid of Expired Prescription Pills

On Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Sealy Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 14th opportunity in seven years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills (prescription and over-the-counter) for disposal to Sealy Police Department at 1320 Rexville Road. 

Arts and Crafts Show

The “always popular” Arts and Crafts Show sponsored by the Wallis American Legion Post No. 200 is coming up real fast. It is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 at the American Legion Hall in Wallis with hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Ghost Tour

Tickets for the Ghost Tour to be held Oct. 28 are available at the Gordon Memorial Library. Tickets are also available online at Tours will start at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. Tours will last 1 1/2 hours. Learn about Sealy's early residents. Harvest Festival

The 52nd annual Harvest Festival, sponsored by Sealy First United Methodist Church, will be Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Fellowship Hall, 200 Atchison Street in Sealy. Serving for the grilled chicken and gravy dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and meal tickets are available in advance. Lions Sealy Dance Club

The Lions Sealy Dance Club is sponsoring a dance on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with Al Sulak and The Country Sounds providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Guests are always welcome. 

Veterans Day Assembly and Luncheon

The Sealy High School Student Council will be hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the high school gym. Immediately following there will be a luncheon for all veterans, active duty military and their families in the band hall. While all are welcome to attend the assembly, please RSVP to Student Council advisers Leslie Pacher ( or Val Goad ( by Friday, Nov. 3 if you would like to attend the luncheon afterward. The students will do a slideshow of veterans and active duty military personnel. If you are a Veteran or have family members or friends who served or are currently serving in the military, we want your/their picture and information (the person’s name, military branch, rank and any awards or commendations received) to be included in the slideshow.

Fantasy of Lights

The 2017 Fantasy of Lights Parade is Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. The parade Deadline is Nov. 29, and this year’s theme is Christmas Around the World. The entry deadline for the 2017 Fantasy of Lights Pageant is Nov. 9, and the contest is Nov. 11 at the American Legion Hall.

State Historic Site

San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site shares the stories of Stephen F. Austin and his colonists who came to Mexican Texas in the 1820s and 1830s.
