Citrus Field Day
The Horticulture Committee of Austin County will be hosting a citrus field day in Sealy at the Hill Center on Friday, Oct. 20. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Program Specialist Monte Nesbitt will present information on

HOA-Meals on Wheels
HOA-Meals on Wheels is planning its annual chicken/sausage lunch fundraiser Friday, Oct. 27 at Levine Park across from Sealy City Hall. As in the past plates are to-go only. Proceeds benefit the HOA-Meals on Wheels in their program of service to senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased by calling the HOA office at 979-885-4188.
Tickets for the Ghost Tour to be held Oct. 28 are available at the Gordon Memorial Library. Tickets are also available online at sealyhistoricalsociety.org. Tours will start at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. Tours will last 1 1/2 hours. Learn about Sealy's early residents. Arts and Crafts Show
An arts and crafts show sponsored by the American Legion Post 200 of Wallis will be Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunay, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 330 Legion Road, Wallis. The 52nd annual Harvest Festival, sponsored by Sealy First United Methodist Church, will be Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Fellowship Hall, 200 Atchison Street in Sealy. Serving for the grilled chicken and gravy dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and meal tickets are available in advance. Fantasy of Lights
The 2017 Fantasy of Lights Parade is Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. The parade Deadline is Nov. 29, and this year’s theme is Christmas Around the World. The entry deadline for the 2017 Fantasy of Lights Pageant is Nov. 9, and the contest is Nov. 11 at the American Legion Hall.

State Historic Site
San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site shares the stories of Stephen F. Austin and his colonists who came to Mexican Texas in the 1820s and 1830s. The historic site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers frequent special-content programming on weekends. Construction on a new museum is ongoing (anticipated opening is spring 2018). Updated property tax information available
The Austin County Appraisal District has updated property tax information available to assist taxpayers. Information for select groups, such as disabled veterans and persons who are who are age 65 or older. For more information about these programs, contact the Austin County Appraisal District at 906 E. Amelia St., Bellville, or at 979-865-9124. Information is also available on the Comptroller's Property Tax Assistance Division's website.
