Local man graduates from U.S. Marine Corps corps boot camp


Pvt. Luke W. LeJeune, 19, of Sealy, TX, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on March 16.

Pvt. LeJeune successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one of about 55 recruits in Training Platoon 3231. While in recruit training Pvt. LeJeune achieved sharpshooter.

Following 10 days home on leave he will report to Camp Pendleton, Calif., for one month at Military Combat Training then on to Fort Sill, Okla., for Military Occupation Specialty school. Pvt. LeJeune will then be given orders to his first duty station.

LeJeune is a 2016 graduate of Sealy High School, where he was a member of the Sealy Tiger Marching Band as well as section leader of the tuba section.

I would enjoy meeting this young man, & plead with him NOT to join. There are many other humanitarian opportunities available in life....Please re-think this decision, don't become part of the military killing machine.
