Linda Lee Beckwith of Sealy Texas passed away at M.D. Anderson Hospital at the Texas Medical Center on May 15, 2017.
Linda was born December 27, 1947 at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston to parents Vernon and Rose Mary LeCompte. She attended St. Peters Elementary School, St. Agnes High School, and the University of Houston where she studied art and art education. She married Paul Robert Beckwith, an optometry student, September 6, 1968 at the University of Houston Chapel. They raised a son and were married for 46 years.
Linda, a consummate artist and craft person, drew and completed
art projects at an early age. Every artistic endeavor she did well. Painting, stained glass, graphic design, interior design, and gift wrapping were just some of the ways that she expressed her extensive talent. Her abilities and tireless hard work eventually led to a design career in residential and commercial interiors. She was especially gifted in integrating materials and furnishings from disparate sources. Most of her clients were from Houston and Sealy and eventually became close friends.
Linda is survived by husband Dr. Paul Beckwith, son Paul Jr., grandson Ian of Berlin, Germany, brothers Larry LeCompte of Austin, Texas and Ted LeCompte of Tacoma, Washington, and her beloved Himalayan cats Java and Annie.
Linda's loving and generous nature frequently touched family, neighbors, clients, and friends. After moving from Houston to Sealy in 2006, Linda and Paul quickly adjusted to life in a smaller community, and became familiar and active members of the Sealy family.
Visitation will be held at Knesek Family Funeral Chapel in Sealy, Texas, Saturday May 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed immediately by the Funeral.
