After sweeping the Brazos Cougars on Oct. 6, the Lady Tigers volleyball team looked to extend their win streak to four against Needville as their season comes to a close. Unfortunately, the Blue Jays snapped the team’s streak in big fashion, sweeping the Lady Tigers.
After losing the first set 11-25, Sealy put together a more competitive second set but ultimately fell short again losing 21-25. The third and final set was just as unsuccessful for Sealy as they lost 13-25.
Seniors Madison Luther and Molly Dittert were some of the standout players despite the loss. Luther led the team in kills with 12 and aces with 2 while Dittert led the team with 18 assists and 13 digs.
The loss put the Lady Tigers’ record at 23-10 with a 4-3 record within the district. Sealy has three matches remaining in the season against Bellville, Columbus and their final match against Stafford on Oct. 24.
The match against Bellville will be played on Oct. 17 at press time but check the Sealy News website and Facebook page for updates.
The Lady Tigers are currently ranked 20th in Class 4A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association Poll.
