Knights fall in first district game


The Faith Academy Knights basketball team squared off against the Kingwood Covenant Prep in their first district game on Nov. 28 at Beth Keaton Gymnasium. The Knights were defeated 49-20. Pierce Newcomb led the way with 13 points and four steals. The leading rebounders for the Knights were Miguel Guerrero with five and Cameron Crawford with four.

The Knights next faced Bryan Still Creek on Dec. 1 at Beth Keaton Gymnasium for a non-district contest. The Knights played well and defeated Still Creek 62-41. The top scorers for the Knights were Pierce Newcomb with 22, Cameron Crawford with 18 and Brody Schiller with nine. The Knights leading rebounders were Newcomb and Schiller with eight each and Nathan Taake with six. The quickness of the Knights forced many turnovers from Still Creek. Leading the team with five steals each were Guerrero, Newcomb and Schiller.

The Knights now have a season record of 1-5 and a district record of 0-1.
