Josie Helena Jones Peikert

Josie Helena Jones Peikert, 99, of Sealy passed away September 4, 2016. She was born on January 21, 1917, to Alex J. and Minnie Neuendorff Jones in Bernardo, TX.

Josie devoted much of her time witnessing about God and as a prayer warrior for others.  One of her greatest pleasures was to serve a meal to whoever came to visit; she made sure they had plenty of coffee, tea, and especially sweets afterwards.

Josie was first a beautician, then a nurse’s aide. She prided taking special care of each of her patients and praying for their recovery.

Josie is survived by one daughter Faye Lang and husband Charles, sons Marvin and wife Bernice, Larry and wife Linda, Harold and wife Rose, and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Peikert King and husband Mark.

Josie is also survived by grandchildren Brenda and Rick Weirich, Beverly and Kenny Fritsch, Bonny Priest and fiancé Chad Paradis, Sharon and John Dirba, Stephen and Jennifer Peikert, Stacy and Kenneth Woodley, Karen and Richard Oselin, Nancy and Kristin Peikert,  Pat and Bryan Corb, Kelly and Billy Staudt, and step granddaughter Brenda and Van Mohr. She also has 24 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, son Kenneth Peikert, grandson Keith Konesheck, also sisters Dora Marsalia, Betty Drymalla, Olivia Fronterhouse, and brothers Alex, August, and Joe Jones and all their spouses.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, TX and Wednesday, September 7 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz. A Parish Prayer Service and Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz with Father Eric Pitre officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Roch Catholic Cemetery in Mentz. Pallbearers are Rick Weirich, Kenny Fritsch, Stephen Peikert, Richard Oselin, Weston Dirba, and Kyle Truss.
