Funeral services for Josephine Marie Macha1a, 87, of Sealy, were held Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, with the Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy. Serving as pallbearers were Stephen Jankowski, III, Mike Hurst, Marcus Kiechneck, James Dzierzanowski, David Carp and Joe Simmons.
Born in Rosenberg, Josephine was the daughter of Marion and Catherine (Michilek) Dzierzanowski. She was raised in Rosenberg and in 1947 moved to Sealy. She attended the Cottonwood Public School. The former Josephine Dzierzanowski was married to Steve Jankowski in 1929 and was joined in marriage to Charles Machala in 1946. She was a lifelong homemaker, devoting her time to her family. Josephine was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy. Josephine Machala died Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Katy.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Jankowski and wife Marilyn, of Pearland, Ron Machala and wife Kellie, of Sealy, Donnie Machala, of Frydek; daughter-in-law, Florence Jankowski, of Sealy; sister, Pauline Surovcak, of Sealy; brother, Anton Dzierzanowski and wife Willie Mae, of Sealy; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands; sons, Julius Jankowski and Larry Machala; sister, Rosalie Janicke; brothers, Leon, John and Tom Dzierzanowski.
