Jewel “Granny” Marie Petersen, 85, of Sealy, Texas, born Oct. 23, 1933 in Geneva, Ill. to Rev. Samuel J. and Gertrude (Schurig) Knauss took her final trail ride to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from Memorial Hermann Hospital, Katy, Texas where she was surrounded by her loving family.
She spent most of her life taking care of others whether it be family members, her children, grandchildren or working as an LVN. Her generosity and caring nature were special qualities that you don’t find very often. She would help anyone, even if it meant she had to go without. She never met a stranger and always found the good in anyone or anything.
Her treasured moments included spending time with her friends and family to laugh and cut up. She loved rodeos, dancing and if there was a trail ride, she was on a horse or in the wagon; trying to get everyone to come along. She tried to put a smile on your face if you had a bad day and she always tried to look for the silver lining in every situation, by doing this she touched many lives in a positive way.
Jewel will be sadly missed by her three surviving daughters: Shelly (Jamie) Sanders; Shari Christensen-Loehr and Joy (Terry) Montemayor-Tidwell; her 12 grandchildren: Shaun (Tamara) Schult, Jessica (Matthew) Milentz, Jacob Moore, Shane (Angel Lang) Moore, Cody Moore, Rafe Moore, Dakota “DJ” Moore, Desiree’ Christensen, Desteny Sabrsula, Danny (Tiffany) Montemayor Jr, Joshua (Renee) Montemayor and Dallas (Stephen) Bozich; and her nine great grandchildren: Kaelyn Schult, Aiden Milentz; Declan Moore, Brantley Tyler, Emersyn Moore, Brianne Montemayor, Haegan Montemayor, Kyndall Montemayor and Brooke Bozich.
