Jesse Ray Hearn, 70, passed away on Feb. 16, 2017, at home in Sealy, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jesse grew up in Texas, graduating from Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1964. After high school, he attended college at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. In 1965, Jesse joined the United States Navy where he served for 22 years. He retired in 1987, achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. Following his active duty service, he continued to work for the Navy as a civilian. 

Jesse married Carmen Olmos in 1972. They were happily married for 44 years. In 2012, they moved to Sealy, Texas, where Jesse became active in American Legion Post 442. Jesse enjoyed his family, his grandkids, baseball, fishing, and supporting his community.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Virginia Hearn. He is survived by his spouse Carmen, his sons Steven Hearn and wife Bridget of Katy, Texas, Michael Hearn and fiancé Brandy Burnett of Humble, Texas, granddaughters Miranda Hearn, Cameron Hearn, and Cecilia Hearn, grandson Austin Burnett, his sister Lynne Rowley and husband Bob of Edmond, Oklahoma, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation was held at Knesek Family Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer St., Sealy, TX, at 9 a.m. on Feb. 21. A memorial service followed at 10 a.m. Burial took place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to American Legion Post 442, 1630 Meyer St., Sealy, TX 77474.
