James Stavinoha was born on October 22, 1942 to John and Annie Stavinoha. He married Evelyn Kutach September 5, 1964. He honored our country by serving in the United States Marine Corp Reserves. James worked many years in the pipeline industry, starting at the bottom as a pipeline helper, to becoming a welder, then running pipeline projects to finally becoming an estimator for Troy Construction.
James loved traveling to different places, fishing, hunting and visiting with people. He also enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family, friends and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and talked to anybody he came across.
James fell into his eternal sleep here on earth on March 24, 2016 at the age of 73 in Sugarland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, Texas on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen. The visitation will be held at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, Texas on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5-7 pm with Rosary at 7 pm.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn, daughters, Jennifer Stavinoha of Odessa, Texas, Jamie Klotz of Sealy, Texas, grandchildren Shelby and Sarah Klotz of Sealy, Texas, sister Ellen Bordelon of Little Elm, Texas and brother Gerald Stavinoha and wife Tweety of Wallis, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bernice Stavinoha and his brother Marvin Stavinoha.
Visitation with the family was held at Guardian Angel Catholic Church April 1, with a rosary following. Funeral Mass was held at Gardian Angel Catholic Church April 2, officiated by Fr. Thuy Nguyen. Entombment followed at Guardian Angel Mausoleum.
