James (JC) Scott, 61, of Bastrop, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, in Clifton Forge, Va. A memorial service was held Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Bastrop from 6 to 8 p.m.
James was born March 22, 1957 in Sacramento, Calif., to James and Hazel Scott. After the passing of his mother, the family moved to Santa Anna, Texas, where he grew up and attended school.
On July 22, 2000, James married Evadne (Sissy) Abercrombie. They made their home in Sealy until 2005 after the passing of son (step), Terry.
James spent majority of his life on the road, driving 18-wheelers from state to state, which he was doing at the time of his death. While on the road, he enjoyed the company of his fur baby, Daisy Mae, who was by his side until the very end.
Survivors include: wife Sissy; daughter (step), Tanya Schroeder; stepsons, Leonard Roberts and family of Alaska and Jerry Abercrombie and family of San Antonio; son, James C. Scott of Modesto, California; three brothers, James E. Scott Jr. and Larry Scott both of California, and Paul Scott Sr., of Brady, Texas; two sisters, Marie Moore of Virginia and Tina Scott Watson of Santa Anna, Texas; several nieces (great) and nephews (great) and grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents and son (step), Terry Schroeder.
