Feared by many, but embraced by millions (including the medical field) the honey bee has been an attribute in scores of ways in today’s society.
With that concept in mind, New Ulm is hosting the Honey/Bee Jubilee on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., rain or shine, at 824 Pecan Street. The Jubilee is free of charge and guaranteed to entice and encourage people of all ages to know more about that mysterious little buzzing creature that does so much for us today.
Discover honey and bee-related food, health and beauty products, even artwork and fine crafts and how they evolve around everyday life. Educate oneself about bee-habitat tax exemptions, the importance of bees in agriculture/economy, and the health benefits of honey.
There is a Honey Judging contest, Honey Bake Off, games for the youngest of the Bee-lievers, live music, food and beverages at the New Ulm Bee-stro all day. The event hits on not only fun for all, but nature, cultures, and traditions that have evolved around honey.
