Herbert Allen Frank, “Pops” at age eighty passed away early morning December 12, 2015 in Bellville, TX.

Herbert was born in Bellville on October 11, 1935. He was the first born son of Franklin and Alma Frank and older brother to Morris, Joanne and Michael. He graduated from Bellville High School in 1955.  After many years of childhood friendship and even though she cancelled the first date, Herbert married his sweetheart Gladys Maler on July 1, 1956. Over the years their family grew to include a daughter, Kathy and three rambunctious sons – Tony, Mark and Tim.

Herbert lived an active and full life – from hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and taking care of his cattle to coaching Little League baseball teams and barbecuing for the Austin County Fair. And even though he played for the rivalry football team, the Bellville Brahmas, he was a dedicated Sealy Tiger fan and ran the chains for the Tigers for over twenty years.

He worked as a foreman for the Texas Highway Department in Rosenberg for thirty-five years and spent many winter nights spreading sand and salt on highways in the Houston area. He was also a member of the Naval Reserves for eight years as well as a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wallis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Alma Frank; brother, Morris Frank; son-in-law, Tommy Smith; brother-in-law, Charles Quinton and nephew, James Quinton. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Frank; daughter, Kathy Smith; son and spouse, Tony and Wendy Frank; son, Mark Frank and son and spouse, Tim and Gayle Frank. He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lauren, Joseph and Johnathon and Great-Grandson, Ethan.
