Gloria Gomez Sepulveda

Gloria Gomez Sepulveda passed away in Houston surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Eloy Sepulveda.

Gloria was a loving wife, mom, aunt, godmother and grandmother. The proverbial homeroom mom, she served as a volunteer for the PTA, on field trip outings, for the cheerleading squad, and as a football mom.

She could sew, cook, bake, organize, balance the books and entertain friends and family, all made to look effortless. Gloria and Eloy were full partners in raising, educating and inspiring their children to succeed, and in being there for their parents, 16 surviving siblings and their children. Gloria loved spoiling her 3 children, three grandchildren, 14 godchildren and countless nieces and nephews – cranking up the AC so they could roast marshmallows in the playroom, hosting homemade pizza parties, teaching them how to fish and cook what they caught at the ranch, and giving tours from her golf cart. Gloria & Eloy loved entertaining and did so at their homes in Houston and Sealy– entertaining 200+ guests regularly for years.

Once empty nesters, Gloria began organizing trips, Christmas dances, Christmas basket drives, and fundraising events for her friends at the St. Patrick Catholic Church’s Young at Heart Club. She’ll be remembered for her contagious enthusiasm, being a fierce friend and an intimidating foe, and for her love of slot machines and casinos.

Gloria is survived by her children and their spouses: Eugene and Steven Tomlinson, Bridget and Eric Lewis, and Eli and Luci as well as her grandchildren: Shaun Holifield, Eli Joseph Sepulveda and Paulina Sepulveda.

A memorial service and celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 at 6 p.m. at El Tiempo Cantina at 2814 Navigation Blvd in Houston. Additional information is posted at
