The First United Methodist Church received the 2016 Community Partner Award from Woodmen Chapter 105 of Sealy.
The award is presented yearly to an organization that the Woodmen believe gives back to the community.
Woodmen president Charles Brandes said he was proud to present this award to the church.
“First United Methodist Church has been very instrumental in improving our community through many projects and outreach events,” Brandes said.
FUMC hosts several fundraisers and events to help the Sealy area. The award was given during the Vendor Blender event that the church holds each year.
“The staff and members of the [FUMC] work year round selflessly to help make Sealy a better place to live and exhibit their commitment to ‘love your neighbor as yourself,’” said Brandes.
