Clayton Fritsch, a 2017 Graduate of Sealy High School, qualified for and competed in the 2017 Junior Olympics in Lawrence, Kan., on July 30.
The Track Meet took place at Rock Chalk Park, the University of Kansas’ Track and Field Stadium. Clayton was competing as a member of the “Track Houston” Team.
There were 46 vaulters in the 17- to 18-year-old men’s category. Clayton took second place with a jump of 15 feet 11 inches and earned the silver medal. The first-place height was also 15 feet 11 inches, with one less scratch.
This was a national meet with competitors who qualified from all areas of the country.
