Faith Academy volleyball team stays in first place with two district wins

With two critical district wins, the Faith Academy Bellville volleyball team stays in first place with a 6-1 record in TAAPS District 9-A play and 13-7-3 overall.  Faith knocked off Kingwood Preparatory and Conroe Lifestyles in two, three-game sweeps.

FA took out Kingwood Prep 25-12, 25-14, 25-10 early in the week at home and then travelled to knock off the Victors, 25-16, 25-14, 25-9.

“It was a good week for our team,” Head coach Joshua McLain said. “The girls took care of business and finished off two competitive district matches with focus and pretty good skill set. The Kingwood game could have looked a little bit cleaner but we stepped up our team play against Lifestyles.”

The Lady Knights have three important district games left along with a non-district, postseason preparation duel to finish the regular season.

“We just have to take care of things the rest of the way in order to get the No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs in a couple of weeks,” McLain said. “Our goals are definitely attainable and achieving success starts in practice every day.”
