The Faith Academy Cross Country team returned to The Woodlands Christian Academy last Saturday for its second meet of the season. The conditions of the course were better than the previous week’s meet but still had a few wet areas, according to head coach Ann Howarth.
Out of the 54 runners from 10 schools, Faith Academy’s representatives in the men’s 5,000-meter race finished consecutively in 19th and 20th. Joshua Bright ran a personal best 19:03 with Beck Briggs right behind him with a personal record of his own at 19:04.
The lone Lady Knight on the high school team, Summer Bright, took 21st out of 44 competitors in the 3,200-meter race with a personal best time of 14:42.
In the middle school division, seventh-grader Ethan Stegent, who is new to the school, debuted with a medal and a sixth-place finish out of 55 runners with a time of 12:28.
“The determination these four runners showed on the course was so impressive,” Howarth said. “Hopefully, their determination will continue to bring them even more success and improvement.”
