The Faith Academy Lady Knight volleyball squad used a season-high hit percentage to take down Conroe Lifestyles in three sets at home last Friday to move to 7-0 in district play.
Head coach Deborah Boudoin said the match started slow for the hosts but after a pair of kills from freshman Addi Riley, the momentum swung to Faith Academy’s side and it never left. Conroe scored 10 points in the first set, three in the second and nine in the third and final set.
As a team, the Lady Knights hit .342 behind strong performances from Alyza Marcotte (.666), Chesney Johnston (.555) and Ella Polston (.375). Boudoin said Riley had three swings and three kills and earned player of the week honors for her contribution.
A key focus in practice leading up to the contest was on the service game, Boudoin said, and Faith Academy recorded 33 aces to only nine service errors which helped keep points on the hosts’ side of the scoreboard.
Reagan Shepherd led the way with 10 aces and added two digs and a kill and Chesney Johnston registered seven aces, led the team in kills with six and added five assists and four digs. Tyler Johnston led the team with 10 assists, added five aces, two digs and a kill and Alyza Marcotte also recorded five aces to go along with two kills and two digs.
Ella Polston collected three aces, three kills and two digs, Ary Castillo contributed three aces and Riley added a pair of digs to her three kills. Josey Potter had two digs, Maddie Odom has one assist and one dig and Skyler Pyka added a dig.
