Eddie C. Svinky


Eddie C. Svinky of Sealy, Texas, was born April 23, 1925, in Frydek, Texas. He died on February 13, 2016, in Sealy, age 90 years. Funeral services were held Feb. 16, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fourth and Atchison Street, Sealy, with the Rev. Ken Bersche officiating. Interment in the Sealy Cemetery. Visitation was Feb. 15, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pallbearers were Michael Svinky, Matthew Svinky, Ronnie Holub, Brandon White, Billy Eaton and Scott Haverland.

On Feb. 13, 2016, Eddie Charles Svinky went to be with the Lord. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at Colonial Belle Nursing Home in Sealy. He was born and raised in Frydek and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School for 11 years. He married the love of his life on Dec. 31, 1944, Shirley Hoek. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. He worked for Duval Sulfur for 10 years, Brown and Root for two years and Austin County for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Sr. and Julie Tallas Svinky, siblings, Bill, Joe, Richard Svinky and Julie Hintz, his children, Edward Charles, Ricky and Caroline Fay White.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Shirley J. Hoek Svinky, son Eddie A. Svinky and wife Charlotte, daughter, Shirley R. LeJeune and husband Gerald, grandchildren, Michael and wife Shawna Svinky, Matthew and wife Rylee Svinky, Brandon and wife Erica White, Brittany and husband Billy Eaton, Kim and husband Mark Dubose and Clayton Roulston, great-grandchildren, Hattie, Brady, Charlie, Dean and Kylee.
