Earl William Wolchik went to heaven Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at his home in Cat Spring, Texas. Earl, age 90, was born in Bellville, Texas, on Dec. 9, 1925.
Earl graduated from Sealy High School. Earl served in World War II as part of the occupation force of the Japanese Islands after their surrender. Earl retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1977 after 31 years of service.
He held offices for St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cat Spring Agricultural Society, VFW, American Legion, Cat Spring Fire Department, Sportsman Association, Texas Parks and Widlife, Sons of Hermann, San Bernard Electric Coop, and President of the Bluebonnet Swingers Square Dance Club.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Edna Wolchik, wife of 47 years Lela Wolchik, wife of six years Nita Wolchik, step-daughter Helen Kluna, step-son William Koehne. He is survived by his step-daughter-in-law Sharon Koehne, eight grandchildren and a passel of great- and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Feb. 18 at Knesek Funeral Chapel - 842 E. Main St. Bellvile. Funeral service was held on Feb. 19 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring. Rev. Kevin Haug officiated.
