Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal collision on State Highway 36 at Overcreek Way in Sealy. The preliminary information indicates at approximately 10:20 a.m. Saturday, a 2000 Chevrolet Impala attempted to make a left turn from Overcreek Way in front of a southbound 2016 DPS Tahoe that was proceeding through the intersection.
The DPS Tahoe struck the Chevrolet on the driver side of the Impala.
James Harvey, 81, of Sealy, was identified as the driver of the Chevrolet. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital for his injuries and pronounced deceased Saturday afternoon. The driver of the DPS Tahoe was a K-9 sergeant; he and his dog were uninjured in the collision.
