Delta Kappa Gamma Society International holds November meeting

The Gamma Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg Nov. 3 with 54 members present. Eunice Sitton read the Mission Statement and the pledges were led by Janyce Beyer. Susan Campbell led the members in reciting the Collect and Christina Godfrey gave the meditation. The prayer was given by Melanie Crowhurst.

Waller members hosted the meeting and presented the program Welcome to Gamma Omega. The Ceremonies Committee inducted five new members into the Gamma Omega Chapter: Kay Ivy, Stephanie Koehler, Joy Ann Kroeger, Paola Salgado, and Debbie Watkins.

President Lou Pruett presided over the business meeting. Minutes from the October meeting were approved as printed. Trudy Holland’s Treasurer’s report was approved. Holland announced that there will be a change concerning members’ payment of dues. Dues will be paid in June 2019. Corresponding Secretary Janet Allphin read several pieces of correspondence.

The Program Committee report was given by First Vice-President Jeanell Dallmeyer. She thanked members for their continued support of the chapter project and announced that the program for December will be the chapter’s annual silent auction. Pruett gave the Legislative report encouraging members to keep up with the latest legislative news. Sue Wieprecht reported that she will present scholarships to three recipients at the December meeting.

The next chapter meeting will be Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s, Phillipsburg. Brenham members will serve as hostesses. Door prizes were donated by Mary Alice Cure and Evelyn Turlington and won by Treva Bullard and Jessie Kokemor, respectively. The Focus prize donated by Lou Pruett was won by Anna Breddin. The meeting adjourned, followed by members singing the Delta Kappa Gamma song.

Attending the meeting from Sealy were Janet Allphin, Jesse Kokemor, Laurie Pawlak, Heather Smith, and Yvonne Wait. Attending from Bellville were Myra Demel, Carole Fry, Carolyn Golan, Susan Massey, Sharon Spies, Barbara Truitt, Melanie Ueckert, Peggy Ueckert, and Sue Wieprecht.
