Children’s Tractor Pull

The Children’s Tractor Pull is always one of the biggest hits at the Austin County Fair.

Pedal your way to the Austin County Fairgrounds for an afternoon filled with fun and excitement on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 2:30 p.m. (Registration at 2 p.m.) There is no entry fee for this event. Parents must accompany their child in order to sign a medical release prior to the contest.

The Children’s Tractor Pull is open to all youth between the ages of 2 and 8.

There will be three age groups: 4 and under, 5 & 6 year olds and 7 and 8 year olds. Each contestant will be required to peddle a children’s tractor with a sled attached which is used to haul bricks. A course will be marked off in 10 foot increments.

At each 10 foot marker, a committeeman will be adding bricks to the sled. Each contestant will begin at the starting line and will be required to peddle the tractor as far as possible. Once the tractor stops, the contestant must dismount from the tractor and the committee will measure the distance traveled. The contestant(s) who drives the tractor the longest distance in each age group will be awarded trophies for first, second and third place. Prizes will be awarded and pictures taken at the conclusion of the entire contest.
