Cecilia Ann Henneke Luedecke

Cecilia Ann Henneke Luedecke passed away on Dec. 29, 2016 at the age of 74.

She was born to parents Leo and Josephine Kuhn Henneke in Sealy, Texas on Feb. 18, 1942 and was raised in Bernardo, Texas. Cecilia was baptized into the Catholic faith in Mentz, Texas on March 9, 1942. She attended school in Bernardo and Columbus.

On Jan. 3, 1959, Cecilia was joined in marriage with Harry Louis Luedecke at St. Roch’s Catholic Church in Mentz, Texas. They will now be reunited on what would have been their 58th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by: her daughter, Tambry Jo Smith and husband David, son, Todd Patrick Luedecke and wife Kay and daughter, Tricia Lane Sowa and husband Steven; grandchildren, Bridget Tarvin and husband Ron, Lindsey Fisher and husband K J, Kaley Rojas and husband David, Blake Luedecke and wife Becca, Toree Luedecke, Katelyn and Zachary Sowa; great-grandchildren, Ashley Fletcher, Brandon Fryer, Haley Rojas, Elissa Tarvin, Kadelina Rojas, Bryce Fisher, Sophia Rojas, Jewley Rojas, Korbin Jones and Saige Luedecke; sister, Leona Schertz and brother Joe Henneke; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Henneke, Shirley Luedecke, Vernell Ermis, Mary Lou Gajewski, Gladys Pavelka; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cecilia also leaves behind a wonderful companion and sweetheart, Al Brown.

Being a devout Catholic, Cecilia was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for most of her life. She was a Eucharistic Minister and usher. She helped at the nursing home, was a rosary leader, helped with bereavement receptions and helped with Homebound Ministry. She was a member of Catholic Daughters since 1966 and was also a member of the Altar Society, Bluebonnet Deanery, K J Z T and K J T.

Cecilia loved her family dearly and worshiped her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a great love for pets, camping, traveling, birds – especially humming birds and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marie Poenitzsch, brothers Aloies and Ebert Henneke.

Funeral services were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 with Rev. Eric Pitre celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy. Pallbearers were Blake Luedecke, Robert Henneke, Zach Sowa, All Henneke, Brandon Fryer and Wilfred Henneke. Honorary Pallbearers were Dan Henneke and Bruce Henneke.
