Carrel Wayne Schavrda


Carrel Wayne Schavrda, 77, passed away on April 1, 2018, in Georgetown, Texas. He was the husband of Mary Hoffman. They shared 13 happy years of marriage together.

Wayne was born in Bellville, the son of Albert Schavrda and Ruby Schavrda Maddox. He attended and graduated from Sealy High School. Wayne then completed his schooling at The University of Texas in Austin earning his business degree. Also while in college he worked at the state capital learning about government and history two of his favorite interest. He worked most of his life in construction applying the skills he learned in college.

Wayne was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown, Texas. Wayne was passionate about Texas and its history. It was often believed he would have enjoyed teaching Texas history or authoring a book on the subject. Wayne will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his ability to take charge of a room no matter the situation.

Carrel Wayne is preceded in death by both his parents, Truman Maddox, his daughter Heather and a host of grandparents, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife Mary; brother Billy; children Clayton, Shannon and Chase; grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Ben, Abbey, Nico, Maya and Luca; and his energetic dog Max!

The family would like to thank you for coming. We are at peace with Wayne’s passing knowing that we will rejoice with him again with our Heavenly Father.
